RICA Compliance

Your Safety. Your Identity. Your Connection.

As a provider of SIM cards and telecommunications services in South Africa, we are fully committed to complying with the Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communication‑Related Information Act (RICA). RICA is a legal requirement designed to protect consumers, prevent fraud, and ensure responsible use of mobile services.

1. What Is RICA?

RICA is a South African law that requires all SIM cards to be registered to an individual or business before they can be activated. This process helps:

  • Prevent identity theft

  • Reduce mobile‑related crime

  • Ensure secure communication

  • Protect customers and networks

No SIM card may be used until it has been properly RICA‑registered.

2. What You Need to RICA a SIM Card

To comply with RICA, customers must provide:

For Individuals

  • A valid South African ID or passport

  • Proof of physical address (not older than 3 months)

For Businesses

  • Company registration documents

  • Proof of business address

  • Representative’s ID and authorization

All information must be accurate and verifiable.

3. How We Handle RICA Registration

We follow strict procedures to ensure full compliance:

  • Every SIM card must be RICA‑registered before activation

  • Only trained and authorized agents may perform RICA registrations

  • Customer information is captured securely and stored in accordance with legal requirements

  • No SIM card will be activated without complete and verified documentation

We do not tolerate fraudulent or incomplete registrations.

4. Responsibilities of Agents & Dealers

To protect the integrity of our network and comply with the law, all agents must:

  • Verify customer identity documents

  • Confirm proof of address

  • Capture accurate information during registration

  • Ensure the SIM card is linked to the correct customer

  • Never activate or distribute unregistered SIM cards

  • Report suspicious activity immediately

Failure to comply may result in account suspension or termination.

5. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are required to:

  • Provide valid and truthful information

  • Keep their personal details up to date

  • Report lost or stolen SIM cards immediately

  • Ensure they only purchase SIM cards from authorized agents

Using an unregistered SIM card is illegal.

6. Privacy & Data Protection

We take customer privacy seriously. All RICA information is:

  • Encrypted

  • Stored securely

  • Used only for legal and compliance purposes

  • Never shared with unauthorized third parties

We comply with RICA, POPIA, and all relevant data‑protection regulations.

7. Fraud Prevention

To protect our customers and partners:

  • We monitor for suspicious registrations

  • We verify documentation where required
